Trinity Road

The sensitive renovation of a former school building to create 5 new apartments with an additional 4 new-build apartments in a rear modern extension.

Challenge
Following the school's closure, the client was unable to sell the site due to a restrictive covenant.
Solution
A change of use to residential made the redevelopment of the site financially viable. Located adjacent to a conservation area and opposite a grade II listed church, the existing school required sensitive refurbishment. A single-storey toilet extension at the front was demolished to create a new entrance courtyard, and playful timber slatting was used to conceal damaged walls and to link old and new.
